Alfred Tavares: At the present I am sincerely and deeply moved to nominate Father Cedric Prakash, s.j.for the Rught Livelihood Award.
This Jesuit's almost single-handed labours against the entrenched fundamentalist regimein the Indian state of Gujarat, and relentless persecution of the minorities, is truely awesomeand goes a very long way to offer vitally essential measure of comfort, courage and hope tothe hapless downtrodden masses in Gujarat. I take the liberty to point out that every possible international encouragement for Fr Cedric Prakash,is cardinal not only for the success of his endearvours to safeguard civil liberties in the country andthe state but also to keep him safe, as far as possible, from attempts on his life. Please, kindly, advise me and inumerable other well-wishers of Fr Cedric Prakash, on the dueformalities and requisites in formally submiting the nomination papers of Fr. Prakash. In case it is already far delayed for this year's consideration I would respectfully nominate himfor the most distinguished "Alternate Nobel Award" for 2010. Response: Chachha Alfred I fully endorse and second your proposal. Fr Cedric Prakash is doing yeoman service at great risk to his personal safety in an extremely hostile environment.
