Anytime I want to be entertained and get a glimpse of the joie-de-vivre of Bombayites, I flip over to the city's Mid Day news.
The on-line newspaper is pretty liberal in allowing unedited readers' comments on big news items and Bombaywallahs join in with full metal jacket. They spare no one including the once dreaded Bal Thackeray whom they showered with expletives when he he did some stupid thing or other that he is usually found doing or saying. Now here is a Bombay incident where a senior Air India Manager's wife and two children were stowed away as supernumeraries on a Bombay-Mangalore flight. Completely illegal of course. Here in North America, there would have been severe repercussions. In this case the repercussions are with the full bloodied Mid-Day readers.
