And Mario, happy that I am to see my name mentioned, consistently electing honest politicians in every precint will fail Goans miserably unless they agree to come under a common minimum programme which is written down and sealed never to be amended as long as the end results of that programme are realised. Mario responds: Floriano, With all due respect, I cannot get too excited about "bhas" relative to all the other priorties that are degrading Goa and its environs. I could care less if everyone in Goa spoke Greek as long as they also acted in the best long term interest of Goa, its history, culture and environment. But that's just me. There's too much emotion tied up in language in India, in my never-humble opinion, and not enough invested in the only reason a language is useful for, communication. Regarding the minimum programme, I agree that the politicians must be held accountable for their campaign promises. But this takes us back where we started - the need for honest politicians because I doubt the dishonest ones will make any such committment. P.S. Selma, the title is yours if you want it:-))
