We see these front page headlines in today's newspapers:

GT: Swine flu strikes the first killer blow; Pune girl dies.

NT: First victim in India - 14-yr-old Pune girl dies of swine flu.

H: INDIA'S FIRST CASUALTY OF H1N1 VIRUS- Pune school girl dies of swine flu.

TOI: First swine flu death in India- Delay in test, Treatment may have killed
class IX student from Pune.

While extending condolences to the parents and family members of the Pune girl
victim, we are apprehensive that Goa may see the worst of the Swine flu in
times to come since there has already been the swine-flu-administrative victim
declared already.

Health Officer Rajendra Tamba, an appointed nodal officer in charge of the
swine flu investigations and treatment in Goa has been sacked/transferred to
Timbuktu from the precincts of the Panjim city as well as having been served a
 SHOW CAUSE NOTICE.

His cardinal sin has been that he had lost all faith in the government (read
health department) to supply him the required basic stuff & medications i.e.
syringes etc, even plain ordinary swab cotton to carry-on his work as the
nodal officer. It is believed that his when his requests after requests for
the basic stuff to perform his allocated duties were rebuffed quoting
'GOVERNMENT HAS NO MONEY' he lost heart and boldly declared his inability to
carry-on in the position and asked to be relieved of the duties. However, he
made his stand publicly rather than through the corners within the house.

Mr. Tamba's request has been willingly accepted by shunting him to a remote
place as well as having been served a show-cause-notice.

Dear Mr. Tamba. Wherever you may be posted, go with a relieved heart because
the weight of what is being done will have to be borne by the rascals who call
themselves the government of Goa. Incidentally, these rascals can increase
their own salaries and perks when they want and when they like, but they cannot
sanction cotton swabs for the ordinary citizen who may be afflicted with the
deadly swine flu. It is our earnest intension to release the phial containing
the swine-flu virus into the Goa legislative Assembly on its last day of
deliberations so that all the 'swines' who are feeding from the trough that is
the Goa Legislative Assembly may suffer the same fate as the poor Pune girl,
and just as well.

Take heart, WE ARE WITH YOU ALL THE WAY.
