Extending your logic, isn't there a Catholic Goan identity (451 years of Portuguese rule, intense conversions, emigration etc) which is distinct from the Hindu Goan identity? And won't we concede that different caste groupings in Goa have different "unique identities", often not even marrying into each other? Isn't there a unique gender identity too?
