Not a single MLA belonging to any political party voted against the amendment to the Panchyat Act. Isn't it wonderful that our MLAs can cross party, communal, religious, and other lines and see eye to eye on the intrinsic value and goodness of the amendment. Isn't it their sacred duty to protect the people from themselves? The people can participate in any process (this is a democracy!) but no real power should be given to them as they do not understand the issues and they might make a mess of it all. As guardians of the aam aadmi our politicians have a sacred duty to do so .... God bless them!
