Subject: FW: 2009 World Goa Day Celebration - Sun, Aug 23rd - Deas Island Park,
Delta
In the words of the international WORLD GOA DAY coordinator:
A day set aside by Goans who are Proud to be Goans to CELEBRATE our Goan
Cultural Heritage, a day to promise to help the less fortunate in our Goan
community.
Hello all,
Some of you may have seen this already, so this would be a reminder of sorts.
On behalf of the GOA Vancouver, I’d like to personally invite you to our World
Goa
Day Celebration on Sunday, August 23rd at Deas Island Park, Delta. Please see
details
below and the flyer attached. It will be a great opportunity to “go Goan” by
dressing for
the occasion and enjoying a susekaad day – you might even see yourself on TV
(fingers crossed).
Going south on the 99, turn east on to 62B Street as soon as you exit the
tunnel –
then look for signs to the Park. From the 91, exit West to Nordel Way and west
again on to River Road – then look for signs to the Park.
There are 2 parking areas – one at the picnic site and another closer to the
park
entrance. We will have signs directing you to the GOA site.
For those of you who have not seen the GOA “Spring into Summer” newsletter –
please
link to http://www.goavancouver.com/docs/2009NewsletterVol%205,Iss%201.pdf
You’ll also have an opportunity at the picnic to check/update your membership
and buy
Nite in Goa tickets.
Please call me (778-999-6531) if you need any further information.
Look forward to seeing you there with your family, friends .... and neighbours.
Would love to hear back with an RSVP so we can get a handle on numbers
attending.
Regards,
Charmaine
