Florian is obviouly absolutely right in his observation quoted above.
But some women's collectives and some 'foreign' NGOs and some great NGOs at
home all of who pretend that their heart and everything else beats only for Goa
are only servicing themselves in the name of their avowed commitment to Goa and
Goodness for eternity.
But what can you say about a women's collective that distributes chocolates to
the children of Bal Bhavan on Children's Day and wants publicity for the same.
That that photo found its way in the waste can even before the ladies got out
of the NT door is a different matter.
Then again, a passenger shed near Club Nacional was constructed by the Rotary
Club. At the GRAND opening all the families of the then Rotary Club executive
members crowded themselves in the passenger shed for a bit of col space in the
newspapers. Doing good for goodies. The photo appeared
perhaps because for some half-baked sub on the night bit it was the news of the
week.
A friend came for my advice the other day on the career prospects for his son.
Jest apart, I advised him if career is all about making money, start an NGO.
If one is eating (particularly when it is a big bite one has taken) it is best
not to open ones mouth in defense or otherwise. It is very sensible to shut up,
continue eating and enjoy it while you have the appetite.
