On 20 August, 30 international cities via 40 global Goan associations will
gather Goenkars to celebrate World Goa Day started by the London-based, Goa
originated Rene Barreto in 2000.
Tony Luis from London says the city and its suburbs have over 25,000 Goans,
and preparations for G-Day have been on for six months.
In Kenya, the Goans will accommodate the party. In Toronto, communal
excursions such as these do more than just bring out the banjo. The
Tanzanians have upped the adrenaline .
There's prayer and pulao for these Goan Britons who will have a
pilgrimage-picnic to The Friars-Aylesford Priory in Kent.
