Dear Sandeep,
I applaud you for this brave and courageous letter to the Herald. It is quite
obvious now that in Goa atleast there is no difference between the Congress and
the BJP. Indeed there is hardly any different between the Congress and these
fringe groups that mushroom. In the balance, at least we have depended on the
fringe groups being consistent and true to their principles, however distorted
those maybe.
It is sad and shameful indeed that Goa's future rests in the handful of
citizens who consistently take up these cudgels be it in the protection of the
environment or the very tenets of democracy. What should have been the job of
the government and the police now falls to the citizen.
At this point, all faith in the government is lost.
