First Workshop on Swine Flu Prevention by IndologyGoa at Goa Science
Centre on 1st September 2009

IndologyGoa in association the Goa Science Centre and Fomento Group
will organise the first full day workshop in Goa on Swine Flu
Awareness and Prevention to prevent the Swine Flu pandemic and to
spread awareness about this deadly virus and preventive measures to be
taken in the event of such an outbreak, on Tuesday, September 1, 2009
from 9.30 am to 4 pm at the Goa Science Centre, Miramar, Panaji.

Goa Leading Corporate House The Fomento Group, India’s leading
Diagnostic products manufacturer Tulip Group of companies, Kenilworth
Beach Resort and Spa, Goa , Goanet.org, Magsons Super Centre, Miramar,
and Series of Health organisation,Taleigao, will be the leading
campaign partner for this social awareness campaign, said a press
release issued by Atmaram Barve, General Secretary, IndologyGoa and
the convener of the workshop

Dr. Anjali Mohan Rao, Chairperson, IndologyGoa said in a press release
that “With the forthcoming festive season, thinking that Goa is a safe
tourist destination, it is quite likely that all unsuspecting
virus-infected tourists from all over the nation will  gate-crash Goa
as usual to find respite in this beach paradise of the country. This
will eventually pose a grave danger to the life and economy of this
state, converting it ultimately into the second epicenter of the
Swine- Flu Pandemic, after Pune City in Maharashtra, added Dr. Rao.

In this workshop, medical experts from the field of Allopathy,
Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Yoga will be invited to guide citizens. Dr.
Rajendra Tamba associated with Directorate of Health services, and a
faculty for National level training program for World Health
Organisation (WHO) on pandemic preparedness will address the workshop
on “preventive measures to be taken to control the Swine Flue
outbreak”. Other experts who will guide the participants in the
workshop are Asst. Prof. Dr Anjali Chodnekar of Shri Kamaxidevi
Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Shiroda; Dr. Neelesh Korde
world renowned Ayurveda practitioner from Gomantak Ayurveda
Mahavidyalay and Research Centre, Shiroda, Yoga Expert Dr.
Balanadacharya of Padmanabh Shishya Sampradaya, Tapobhumi, Ponda, as
well as the Nodal Officer for the Swine Flu in Goa.

Dr. Balanadacharya, a graduation in Yoga and Doctorate in Sanskrit
Vedantaashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati and presently associated
with Brahmanand Sanskrit Prabhodini, Padmanabh Shishya Sampradaya,
Tapobhumi- Goa will be present a illustrated lecture and presentation
by this team consisting of  Ajit Gaonkar, Sidhi Borkar ( Kavi Kulguru
Kalidas Sanskrit University, Nagpur.), Mahesh Bakal ( Deputy
Secretary, Padmanabh Shishya Sampradaya, Tapobhumi-Goa.) on Yoga to
increase Body resistance and demonstration on Pranayama and Jalneti
Aasanas.

There will be no registration charges for this workshop but,
considering the limited capacity, those who intend to participate in

IndologyGoa has appealed to all the citizens from all walks of life
and captains of all the Industries, State government, academic
institutions, small and medium scale industries, social and charitable
organizations, workers' unions sector to send their representatives
etc will be invited to participate in this workshop to clarify their
doubts about checking the outbreak of Swine Flu in their respective
Sector.
