I do ask Mario the following questions:

[1] Why did you believe the Bushy lies about the WMDs

Mario responds:

Simple. Because Bushy did not tell any lies about the WMDs.

Though we have gone over all this ad nauseum I would be glad to explain the
facts yet again even at the risk of driving Bosco batty.

You somehow seem to have missed the 17 UN resolutions, most passed unanimously,
that demanded an accounting of Iraq's WMDs.  The sequence started in 1991 when
Bushy was not even Governor of Texas.  Even though these resolutions were
accompanied by stringent economic sanctions that made life in Iraq hell because
Saddam chose to loot the oil for food program for his own benefit, Saddam was
never able to account for the destruction of his WMDs which he had agreed to
provide the UN with in the cease fire agreement of 1991.  Common sense says he
could not because he had not destroyed them.

I guess you think it makes sense that a cunning and brutal dictator who had
killed hundreds of thousands of his own people in order to preserve his cushy
dictatorships would then give it all up because he REALLY "did not have any
WMDs" but was "unable" to show the UN inspectors he did not have any. To me,
this makes no sense.

If he had been honest and up-front with whatever he had done with the WMDs he
may still be alive today happily torturing, raping and pillaging Iraq and
menacing his neighbors to the delight of his many admirers, some on Goanet.

I hope I'm wrong, but you sound like one of Saddam's admirers based on your
dogged opposition over the last several years to his removal and single-minded
and highly selective opprobium aimed only at Bushy while ignoring the entire UN
and 12 years of immediately prior history which was directly related to his
removal.

[2] Why did you not believe your own American weapons inspectors who
actually went into Iraq and checked.

Mario responds:

Simple. Because the inspectors, who were part of a UN team run by a nutty
Swede named Hans Blix, not an American team, were not supposed to "look for"
and "find" the WMDs like looking for needles in a haystack - the UN resolutions
required the Iraqis to show the UN inspectors what they had done with the WMDs,
which they were unable to do.

The UN resolutions did not require the inspectors to play hide and seek with
the Iraqis and their WMDs.  The relatively small volumes of lethal biological
and chemical WMDs could be easily hidden in such a large country.

The Iraqis were unable to show the inspectors what they had done with the WMDs
as the UN resolutions required them to do - obviously because they could not
show documented proof that they had destroyed what they hadn't destroyed.

Now ....remember, it is

a: Ok to acknowledge when one is wrong

b: It is OK to be in denial

c: It is OK to abuse

Mario responds:

a) I will acknowledge I am wrong when I am actually wrong as I have done in
recent posts where Gabe and Bosco correctly showed that I was wrong.

b) I think the facts outlined above and repeated ad nauseum since 2003, show
that it is you who is in denial and assertions and insinuations do not
translate into facts without corroborating evidence or logic.

c) I will leave any abuse to you and your cronies up north and across the
pond:-))  With facts and logic I have no need for abuse:-))
