It opens some avenue for thought.
However, one also has to be aware that people are actively searching for ways
to loot the church lands today. That looting should be easier to stop than the
more
gradual decay of other church properties.
Hopefully, the people in Goa are going to take a stand against both problems.

Church properties, overlooking the potential

Church properties are in the news. Last month, Goa saw a
seminar specially called on this very issue, which was
followed by a smaller round-table at Dona Paula last weekend.
Naturally, when there's something to fight over -- or even a
questioning over property we control (or think we do) -- we
get our hackles up and defences in place.
