On the 62nd death anniversary of "Pai Tiatrist" Joao Agostinho Fernandes,
(14.12.1871 to 29.08.1947 ) the Chief Minister, Shri Digambar V. Kamat
garlanded his portrait at the " Pai Tiatrist" 1150 A/c auditorium Ravindra
Bhavan, Margao, today (29/08/2009 ) evening at 1714 hrs (IST) in the presence
of noted tiatrist Mr.Roseferns, Mike Mehta (Adv), Mr Premanand Sangodkar, Mr
Wilson Mazarelo, Prince Jacob Mr Anilkumar and others.
Speaking on the brief ocassion Mr Kamat eulogised the role played by "Pai
Tiatrist" in promoting the cause of tiatr stating that owing to his yeomen
contribution to tiatr his Government, named the biggest auditorium in Goa
after him. The CM promised all assistance to the tiatrist in promoting tiatrs
and would always stand by them in their mission.
The function was organised by Mr Wilson Wilmix Mazarelo and Prince Jacob.
