Two new showrooms/office spaces, double height (135 sq m each with bath) for lease in upscale Campal/Miramar beach area, Panaji, Goa. Contact: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Ruby, I have written to you a personal e-mail on 09 September followed by a reminder on 10 September 2009 and since I do not appear to have received your response I thought I would respond your question on Goanet. I would appreciate an introduction about who are you and which charity are you representing, if at all? Melgoans is a privately registered company, which came into being because the existing associations of Goans in Melbourne failed to promote Goa as it should be and one of them who has been in existence for some 30 odd years said "Why promote Konkani in Melbourne" and kicked the World Goa Day in August 2003! Now that the World Goa Day event has been successful, the Goan Association has been in contact with the founder of World Goa Day asking him to give this event back to them with the stone-age constitution as at 01 August 2009 which has been for 30 years that discriminates any non-Goan partners of Goan members of becoming full members. As a company, Melgoans do not have membership, and its primary focus is not profits, but portrayal of Goa as it should be, to the multicultural populace of Melbourne. Some of the means to this end is by organizing Goan events, feasts besides social functions, where Goans and their Australian friends actively participate. Melgoans who has been in existence for 7 years as opposed to 30 years has put Goa on the Map in Victoria. You may want to have a look at our website www.melgoans.com If your current interest about Melgoans is mere curiosity, then you need not bother to respond. However, if you are a real true blue blooded Goan with Goa in your heart, maybe we can join hands and do something together, for Goa and Goans in Melbourne. As I said to you in my e-mail I would be more inclined to do something in Australia which is now our country and charity begins at home. India is not poor! There is such a lot that can be done should like minds get together, and there is such a lot that can be destroyed by indiscriminate use of the pen and now a days fingers on the key board, as is the custom and habit of many Goans on different forums. Fingering is a good past time! The choice is yours: How about you respond directly to me, and we can chat further. I have given you my mobile number in my e-mail of 09 September 2009. The choice you make will tell us where you really stand. Cheers Oscar Lobo.
