The Goan Association of New Jersey (GOANJ) plans to hold its annual Christmas dance on Saturday, December 19 at the Ukranian Cultural Center in Somerset, New Jersey. And for the first time, the dance will feature New Jersey's own goan band-the "PRISM" led by Brian Barreto. The PRISM has played for the Association's past two Spring dances and will be enriched by the presence of a popular Toronto-based singer- John Fernandes. The Toronto-based renowned band - the "Naked Flame" - led by Joe Rebello -has been playing for the past five Christmas dances. But weather constraints- notably storms that affected travel-forced the Association to make other plans. Other events planned by the GOANJ for the rest of the year include an Adult religious Retreat on September 20, A Whist Drive "Seven Hands" card tournament on October 17 and the Children's Christmas Party on December 13.
