* **PRESS RELEASE** ** **Eco Treks Goa to organize photography exhibition ** *** *Panjim, 14h September 2009:* Eco Treks Goa, a group of committed trekkers from Goa who have gone on numerous treks in the state and other parts of India, even the Himalayas are hosting a photo exhibition and sale of photographs clicked while on treks. Aptly titled ‘Hills to the Himalayas’ the exhibition will be held from September 16th to 19th at Gallery Attic in Panjim. Cezar Menezes, President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry will formally inaugurate this unique exhibition at 6 pm on the 16th. A one –of-its-kind exhibition, the collection brings forth the talent and creativity of these trekkers and amateur photographers. Featuring close to 15 trekkers from Goa who captured the beauty of the lofty heights of the Himalayas, charming hills of Goa and the level stretches of Goa’s beaches, the exhibition promises to be an exciting event . These are the works of all amateur photographers who with no or very little technical know-how managed to get the best shots and thus arrest their adventurous memories. Experienced trekkers like Durgadas Parab, Kedar Joshi besides others incluing 8 and 9-year-olds join in to showcase a dazzling display inspired by splendid picture-postcard locales. Other participating members include Sachin Tendulkar, Arti Das, Niyati Patre, Snehal Naik, Julias Fernandes, Mukta Amonkar, Ashwin Kumar, Nitin Kerkar, Vijay Sawant, Sunny Pereira and others. An interesting feature of this exhibition is the display of caricatures by Goa’s acclaimed cartoonist, Alexyz Fernandes, an avid trekker who is also a part of this group. The four-day exhibition every evening will also be hosting interactive sessions during the exhibition to delve deeper into the aspects of trekking. An interactive session with the founder members of Goa Hiking Association will be held on the evening of 18th September at 5.30 pm. Additionally a certificate distribution ceremony and a talk by renowned environmentalist, Rajendra Kerkar will be held on the 19th of September at 5.30 pm.
