That's true! Noel is Lambert Mascarenhas' son-in-law. A very nice and down-to-earth guy, whom I met just the other day, playing a prominent host's role at the launch of Mr Mascarenhas' book. Noel was very popular in the football and business circuits. Despite his affluence and political clout (his mum was one of Goa's early MLAs), he retained his friendly and simple style. His untimely death came as a surprise, if not a shock, to many here, and a caller rang up from North America to enquire about the news! FN
