RAGAN KAZAR MOGAN DIVORCE
The title is unusual isn’t it?
Usually, it is the other way round
Whether that can happen in real life that I don’t know but it
did happen in the Tiatr ‘Ragan Kazar Mogan Divorce’
by Jack de Vasco staged at Kala Academy
on 29th Sept.2009 as a part of 35th Tiatr Competition.
The only daughter of a rich man is in love.
The father disapproves as the boy is ’Posko’ an adopted son..
He would do anything to break the relationship.
Tied her own daughter to a chair leaving her hungry and thirsty for days..
Her brother suddenly comes home from Bombay witnessed
his father’s Atrocities..
The boy and the girl finally got married against the wishes and
without the knowledge of her father. Thanks to her brother’s support.
So, that’s RAGAN KAZAR.
They are happily married now for more than 3 years.
The couple is childless.
The boy/husband very upset. So upset that the doctors
predict that he could go out of his mind if he does not
become a father.
Wife eventually finds out from the doctors reports that she would
never be able to conceive a child due to a fault in her womb.
Unable to bear the sufferings of her beloved husband and to save him,
she with the support of her brother
and her father (Now a changed man) decides to give divorce
so that her husband re-marry and fulfill his dream of becoming a father.
What a sacrifice!!
So, that’s MOGAN DIVORCE
Directed by Salvador Afonso
Mr. Afonso played the role of Pondori (Hindu character) and as singer,
his wife (Inacia) played main role as daughter and his two sons
(Child actors Joesan & Sanyo) as singers and comedians - see pic
(Mr. Salvador Afonso, from Chandor is known for his ‘Zomnivoile Khell’
during carnival etc)
Similarly, the playwright, Mr. Jack de Vasco acted along with his
brother (Antonio) and their sister (Felcy) – All as singers.
Professional/popular tiatrists were Clara Dias as mother and
Comedian Marcus –see pics
Besides, Cristo (father), Jackson (son), Baptiste (Adopted son),
Elifa (sister). Michael (girl’s father), Peter (as brother), Marcel (as doctor)

There were about 16 songs of solos, duos, trios and quarto.
