Planning to get married in Goa? www.weddingsetcgoa.com Making your 'dream wedding' possible ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A few days back, the people from some parts of Goa, particularly from Canacona area, had to bear the brunt of fury of the “Rain Gods”. Incessant rains for 5 consecutive days wrecked havoc in these parts of Goa. As per newspaper reports, the resultant flash floods claimed at least two lives and caused extensive damage to over 400 houses. Over a thousand families were affected, their belongings and life savings lost and shattered. Around 5000 trees were uprooted; fields devastated and crops destroyed thus affecting the livelihoods of around 1700 farmers. The total damage, as per the State Government reports, has been estimated to be to the tune of around Rs 131 Crores. There are several NGOs who have taken up the cause of rebuilding the lives and livelihoods of the shattered citizens of Canacona. One of the leading local dailies, “O Heraldo” too is involved in the relief work. Please contribute generously to help our fellow Goan citizens.
