Planning to get married in Goa? www.weddingsetcgoa.com Making your 'dream wedding' possible ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM OCT 17: Denying allegations levied against him by the opposition panchas, former Mayem sarpanch Tulshidas Chodankar has stated that there was no misappropriation and all the panchayat work was carried out as per the rules. It may be recalled that the opposition had charged former sarpanch Tulshidas Chodankar of misappropriation and had also demanded action against him and the panchayat secretary for their high-handed behaviour on October 12, the day no-confidence motion was passed. Addressing a press conference on Friday, Chodankar informed that all the panchayat work was carried out as per the norms. “There was no misappropriation in the panchayat and if it is proved, I am ready to resign,” he stated. “It’s a baseless allegation that I had hired people. They were the villagers who had stormed into the panchayat, as they were agitated over their pending salaries,” claimed Chodankar. Digambar Parab, a local, who was present at the panchayat hall on the day of no-confidence motion, said that they had gone to the panchayat to ask the opposition panchas as to why the motion was passed. “We want a stable panchayat and there was no reason for a no-confidence motion against the sarpanch. There was development in every ward,” claimed Parab. Panch Sanjay Arondekar, villagers Mahesh Gawas, Ramnath Gaddi were among others present on the occasion.
