The Goa Su-Raj Party condemns the engineering of the bomb blasts in Goa on 16
October, 2009, the eve of Diwali celebrations by anti-social and disgruntled
elements with an eye to possibly cause communal tensions/riots between
communities
in this otherwise peaceful State.

The very fact that the deceased bombers are linked to Sanatan Sanstha,
qualifies the
organization to be banned right out from the State of Goa.

What is shockingly noticed is that a great percentage of persons involved in
heinous
crimes in Goa including the bomb blast case is the involvement of non-Goans.
What is
even more shocking is that Sanatan Sanstha has set up its headquarters in
Ramnati-Ponda, Goa, and from reports appearing in the press, it seems that this
organization is run and directed by non-Goans with its venomous newspaper
Sanatan
Prabhat dishing out periodic incitements . Examples: Concerted campaign against
artists Subodh Kerkar and M F Hussain. It is clear that these communal
elements
including the fringe communal organizations such as VHP; Bajran Dal; Ram Sena;
the
RSS are bent upon destroying what has been an unique facet of Goa, namely its
communal harmony.

The onus is very much on the Goa Police to investigate this organization fully
and
completely as (1) there is the question of the involvement of a Minister in
the Goa
Government and/or his family members with the organization and (2) there has
been a
spate of vicious and baffling desecrations of religious places of worship in
the
State for a long time and sadly none has been apprehended yet. This may be the
opportunity to wrap-up the mysterious desecrations as well as nip the bombs
culture
in the bud in the State of Goa.

The Goa Su-Raj Party is anguished to see that some Goan Hindus are embracing
these
extremist organizations under the misguided belief that these organizations
are
helping them grow in spirituality. The situation in Pakistan reflects directly
on
the policies earlier followed by Pakistan to encourage extremist groups to
operate
within its territory to fight proxy battles against India. This was done
through the
use of extremist religious teachings. The same organizations/groups are seen to
have
turned against the Pakistani Government and we see the blood bath taking place
there
presently. It is time for our Goan Hindu brothers and sisters to question
themselves
if this is what they want for Goa in particular and India in general.

It is a hard decision for the Chief Minister of Goa to make but decide he must,
one
way or the other in order to safe-guard the well-being of this unique State of
Goa.
