Dear Freddy,

As always, I admire your write-ups.

I choose to comment on this one because you have chosen to say that 'our Indian democracy most certainly has an
incurable cancer'.

Corruption alas has been the bane of Indian Political system right from Pandit J. Nehru's time when Nehru failed to bring to book his close friend and associate, the then defence minister Krishna Menon in the first ever Jeeps scandal in the Independent India. If Nehru had own- up on his responsibility to the nascent biggest democracy in the world in cauterizing corruption at that time, Goa would not have been invaded to safe-guard the electoral prospects of Krishna Menon.

But again, to contrast the above, if Narashima Rao had not indulged in purchasing the required numbers of MPs from JMM at the cost of crores of rupees, he would have not been able to form the government and give India the economic wizard in Manmohan Singh. If this had not happened, India would have sunk to the bottom long before Kodas of the day could rip us shamelessly for thousands of crores of rupees. And talking of Narashima Rao, I have always wondered as to how a cadre RSS like him could have become the Congress Prime Minister of India. This is the reason that I have gone on record many times of saying that the Congress is far from being secular. It is worst than the Communal BJP. Perhaps, with this disclosure, Narashima Rao and the lot of late Congress stalwarts will be turning in their graves or where ever they may be :-))

India, and more particularly, Goa urgently needs the 'Budwig Diet' to cure this corruption cancer that is taking Goa to the terminal point of no return. Goa needs a systemic change in governance which only Goa Su-Raj Party can deliver. When the blood that runs into Goa's bloodstream has turned into poison, the onliest way to undo the damage and prevent the ultimate catastrophe is to give total transfusion of clean blood. None of Goa's political parties can do this, now, or a decade hence. And by that time Goa will be dead and gone if Goa Su-Raj Party is ignored and made fun of. Apart from the poisoned blood, every organ, every joint and sinew in Goa's body is working for itself unmindful of Goa itself.

Cheers

Subject: [Goanet] Our Politicians and Corruption

Our Politicians and Corruption

If sex is synonymous with glamour, then corruption too is synonymous with
politics in India today. Politics is no more a virtuous profession that it once was, but an easy means towards money, power and position. Our politicians will spend any amount of money to get a ticket and then win an election by any means, fair or foul. Once elected the money spent, is recovered in record time. Even
as Cricket, which was supposed to be a gentleman's game has acquired the
viability and commerciality of a race course, politics has acquired the
viability and the thrills of a casino, wherein "jackpots" are hit as per the
ministries they are affiliated to, which in fact lubricate the silent wheels of fortune even further. No etiquette codes are followed or for that matter none
required. Even the global economic melt down fails to stop the inflating
fortunes of our politicians......................

..............problem or a stomach problem, so that they can have five star
treatment at the best hospitals at the cost of the exchequer rather then the
hardships of a prison cell, then our Indian democracy most certainly has an
incurable cancer.
