Goa on brink of facing one more cyclone HERALD REPORTER PANJIM, NOV 14 Days after the cyclone Phyan ravaged the Goan coastline claiming 68 lives, Goa now stands on the brink of facing another cyclone building up in south east of Kerala. According to officials in the Indian Meteorological Observatory there is a low pressure building up in the Arabian Sea south east of Kerala, which could hit isolated areas in Goa. However, the State unit of the IMO had no information on the new system developing. "We have no information as of now," Meteorologist KV Singh told Herald. Singh was quick to add though that a system is building up though in the Arabian Sea. "A clear picture could come out in the next 48 hours," he said. Asked about the reason for the rains today, Singh said, "There is a trough in the Arabian sea to Rajasthan and low pressure in Comorine area in Bay of Bengal." "There is a forecast that there will be moderate to rather heavy rainfall in next 24 hours," he said. To a query the officer however said that there is no warning issued to fisherman as yet. Goa experienced heavy rains with thunder storm this evening. Many areas in the capital city were without power.
