That is very funny.  

On a more serious note though, if I remember right, I think it was  Dr Teotonio 
De Souza who wrote about  the large numbers of  members of Portuguese Jewry 
coming to down to Goem and clandestinely practicing their religion.  This was 
after persecution coerced them into conversions in Portugal.

The introduction of the Inquisition in Portugal and Goem was primarily to root 
out these ‘recidivists’.  Wayward Christians obviously weren’t spared either. 
Over here it swept up recalcitrant Hindu converts in its cruel net.
