Herbs and spices have for long been recognized as repositories of elements that
assist in the fight against ailments that affect mankind.

Their efficacy is dictated by the concentration of the relevant elements in
these herbs and spices.

This is where the problem lies. For example chilies’ and cumin are known to
possess cancer busting properties. But the quantity of these that need to be
eaten for them to have any discernible effect is very large. Unrealistically
so.

Medical science needs to ascertain how best these natural medicines can help
mankind in its struggle against diseases.

Vigorous and regulated testing is the only way to ensure charlatans do not jump
on the bandwagon and try to make a fast buck by prying on the gullible.
