------------------------------------------------------------------------ Samir, Please could you spell out what you mean by "occupation by Russians"? Just btw and in the interest of a more balanced debate... the Morjim issue was hyped up, among others, by a publication linked to the real-estate lobby who themselves had a stake in some huge projects in Goa (Rahejas). Does "occupation by the Russians" mean (1) one or two large land deals going sour among their partners, leading to acrimony in the press (2) a preference for a certain beach by tourists from a particular destination (3) two tourists, a couple, clad in holiday-wear, riding on a Goan bike, and unsuspectedly clicked with a 300mm lens (4) an out-of-power politician of a minor political party, searching for issues, and realising that land (like migration, but only in-migration not out-migration, and language or communalism are heady issues for Goa) (5) something the rest of us should be enlightened about in more detail? In what way is Morjim different from the bhatkarshahi of the Goa of the old (and today too, in a state which has yet to implement a land-ceiling act, so many years after independence and liberation!). Or the beach belts of Ozran and ABC (Anjuna -Baga-Calangute) where the Brits/Germans and miscallenous others, including Scandinavians, have their preferences clear?
