Lea and I have had close personal friends who have died as the result of
being subjected to too much chemotherapy. One died just a week ago today!

The friend who died last week was our son's companion since childhood,
and he died young, at just fifty. He had received repeated chemotherapy
treatments even after his situation was defined as terminal; when he
could not take the pain and the nausea any more, he shut himself in his
room and committed suicide.

Is it possible to have "too much chemotheraphy"?

Mario responds:
Victor,
Heartfelt condolences on the tragic death of your son's friend in such a sad and desperate manner. I'm sure the oncologists were doing their best to save him or prolong his life... ***Yes, the oncologists could not even prolong his life. That confirms what I said. I find a confirmation in the statement of medical companies themselves about ALIMTA: "ALIMTA (pemetrexed for injection) is approved by the FDA in combination with cisplatin (another chemotherapy drug) for the initial treatment of advanced nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), a specific type of NSCLC. ALIMTA is not indicated for patients who have different type of NSCLC called squamous cell." (see www.alimta.com). It is not a cure". "The combination of Alimta (pemetrexed) and cisplatin is now the accepted as the standard first-line chemotherapy treatment for mesothelioma in patients that are inoperable. When surgery is done to debulk the tumor, this combination is often administered in follow-on.

Alimta is not a cure for mesothelioma, but clinical trials have shown it is associated with an increased survival for mesothelioma patients. Scientifically, an antifolate antineoplastic agent that disrupts folate-dependent metabolic processes. To lower the chances of side effects with Alimta, patients are given folic acid (vitamin B9) and vitamin B12 before, during, and after treatment.

Alimta is made by the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly, and the name Alimta is a trademark of that company" (see http://www.mesotheliomaweb.org/alimta.htm).

It is not "too much or too little chemotherapy"!... "Real doctors" ("specially trained doctors") could not save him, how can we? Thank God, they could save Mario from "rare cancer"... <<<At one point I thought, "At least I'll find out if the atheists are right:-))" Well, darn it, I still don't know:-)) ***Why are atheists right? You are right, you have been saved from "rare cancer" through God's power and through the work of "real" oncologists...
<<<You are probably getting confused with the homeopaths:-))
***Homeopaths will not claim cures without having achieved them.
<<<If all else fails, call Fr. Ivo:-))
***I am not a "real doctor", nor "specially trained oncologist" (though I have cured non-cancerous, benign tumours), how can I cure cancer? I would send the patients to the "real doctors" who cured Mario totally and permanently, and in case in which they fail with modern medicine (surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy), I would pray for them and anoint them with the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. That is what we all believe, the Catholic Church believes...
Regards.
Fr.Ivo
