Orthodox Christians - who number more than 250 million globally- celebrate 
Christmas  on January 6.
They also celebrate Easter a week later . Most of them live in Eastern Europe .

For other Catholics- January 6 is the feast of the Epiphany -also   the   feast 
of the Three Kings which
is celebrated  on a large scale in Spanish-speaking countries.  .It    
traditionally signals  the
removal of the Christmas decorations.

As for the early Christmas greetings, I suppose given  the fact that  most of 
us are  spread all over
the world, I do not see a problem; After all, don't we send our Christmas cards 
way ahead of time.,
and in some cases - ostensibly due to heavy postal traffic- it arrives after 
Christmas
