The New Music Series
Listen to the inaugural concert of CONTACT! online
The debut concert of CONTACT!, the New York Philharmonic’s new music series,
will be re-broadcast on Q2, Classical 105.9 FM WQXR’s contemporary classical
music stream, tomorrow, Sunday, December 27 at 2:00pm. Access the broadcast by
visiting www.wqxr.org, select the Q2 tab on the Player and click “Listen.”
You will also be able to listen to the broadcast online at our Website,
nyphil.org, from December 28 to January 11.
The concert took place on Thursday, December 17, at Peter Norton Symphony
Space, and featured world premieres by Marc-André Dalbavie ("mesmerizing,"
wrote The New York Times) and Arthur Kampela ("certainly fun for the players
and for the audience, which whooped during the ovation" - The New York Times),
as well as Lei Liang, and Arlene Sierra. The broadcast will includes
introductions by the composers, in discussion with conductor Magnus Lindberg.
Don't miss the second set of CONTACT! concerts this April, conducted by Alan
Gilbert.
