So Dr. Antonio Menezes has now found a new route of comparision - Goa which is
not a city compared to Lisboa a city. What else? Si nao gostos da Portugal

I do not think it would be fair to compare ''' a gente superior e catolica
de Goa '''
with those living in Sawantwadi and Karwar.
Perhaps I may have been a bit harsh in assessing the educational standards
in colonial Goa in the sense that unintentionally I have included in the
illiteracy group all those who were perfectly literate in Marathi language.
I think we should compare Goa with Lisboa which might have had the same
number of population i.e. 600,000 . We need to compare only the number of
Secondary Schools ( Lyceums) in Lisboa with those 3 in Goa, and which
I am sure Dr. Colaco is in excellent position to judge for himself.
