TAG's 1st Popular Tiatr Festival 2009
Don’t understand the logic behind holding such (duplicate) festival
involving about Rs. 5 lakhs
Or is it a Tiatr Competition for the professional Tiatr directors?
I sure directors like Mario Menezes, Prince Jacob, Roseferns etc will
be the first not just because they are TAG members but they are some
of the directors who stage more that 20 shows in a years.
Besides, there are others like Minin de Bandar, Ani-Olga, John,
Agostinho, Domnic. Pascoal, Milagres, Janet-Filip, A Sylvester etc
Honorarium paid for each participating group is more the prize money ?
Whereas, directors usually charge between 10,000-18,000 per
show why pay them Rs.25,000?
Half of it would have been fine, after all, it is an competition?
(I know at least three of the abv directors who charge just Rs.10,000 at
December 2008 rates).
It looks like more will come for the honorarium than the
prize which is Rs.20,000
- What about the audience? It is going to be a ‘FREE’ festival or Paid
one like KA’s?
- Will there be enough response for such festival?
- Why people should come to watch the same tiatr again (which they
watched already)?
- Even if it is FREE, one cannot expect much audience no matter
how popular is the director.
e.g. At KA, on Tiatr Day, they gave Prince Jacob Show for FREE and
yet hall’s occupancy was about 30% of its capacity
It’s good that TAG doing something for the professional tiatrists but
it would have been nice if it had done some thing to the new and
upcoming tiatrists in its so called first ever festival cum competition
Just my thoughts.
