Impotent Goan Politicians Rush To Delhi For Aphrodisiac
Reference to the article "Madkaikar apprises Cong high command on grievances" on NT dated 17th Jan'10, has once again proved beyond doubt, that our elected MLA's are more interested in tackling their own selfish problems, rather than the problems of the people, and on top of it all, we the people have to pay for their expenses. This is one reason that we have to do away with the national parties in Goa, because every time someone has an itch, it may not even be in the most private places, he has to go all the way to Delhi for a scratch and that's costing us Goan a lot of tax payers money, which could be put to constructive use. We Goans have umpteen problems, that need urgent attention, but none of our corrupt MLA's and ministers think, it's prudent to take up these issues with their high command, instead they just fly, that too first class, with their own selfish, unwarranted, irrational absurdities to the capitol, every now and then. Is this the way, democracy is supposed to function ? Is the leadership in Goa so impotent that it requires aphrodisiacs from Delhi at such regular intervals ? Since the fall of the MGP, Goan politicians have been changing parties, loyalties and ideologies, like nappies on new born babies, their constant change of political affiliations, their lack of integrity and morals, along with greed for money and power, has put Goa on the pedestal, for corruption and crime, but do they care ? Not a bit, because they pay obeisance only to money and power and that's what they live and die for, nothing else matters. Last couple of day coastal Goans, have been having a torrid time, as one by one, they are being made homeless, demolishing their homes built on their own land, inherited by their elders for ages, with their had earned money. All the structures that are demolished, belong to the poor Goans, who cannot even afford to go to court, to put up a stay order on the demolitions. While the people whom they had elected, to work for their good, have shown no interest at all, to come to their rescue but instead, they have been busy planning coups to become more powerful and rich to increase their political clout. We Goans have to take stock of this ugly situation, and synergise all our efforts and act accordingly, to overcome these perennial insidious and salacious desires of our present corrupt politicians. If we are to survive and come out of the throes of depravity, we should look for incorruptible people who are epitomes of honesty and integrity to run our affairs for Goa, this indeed is the only cure for this otherwise incurable disease. Wake up Goa and take heed.
