Hi all who wrote and read the posts on this thread.  My apologies, that the
original post created so much consternation and each subsequent post pushed the
envelop further.

My only reason for the original post was to bring to everyone's attention what
the international press is saying about amchem bangarachem Goem. Such press
coverage (and situation in the coverage) negates the crores of rupees Goans
(Govt., corporations and individuals) spend on promoting Goa.

Rather than be negative and in blame-mode, I tried to provide a solution to
pre-empt the crimes; that has worked in many situations, at least in
America. Yet, atleast one poster felt I was being over-the-top with my
suggestion; while offering no solution other that blaming the police.

It was not my intention to post this story to start another round of
recriminations.  Often to make our point (even stronger) we use over-reaching
phraseology; that generates its own momentum.  It would appear better (and this
applies to me too) if respondents used points (phrases) of agreement rather
than disagreement.  Yet, that may take away the fun of 'gotcha writing'.

Regards, GL

Mario is probably right. The difference is, however, that the average RG
doesn't believe he's an expert in everything, and doesn't let out gas in
cyberspace at the slightest excuse!

---------- Mario responds:

Neither do many RG, which is probably why Goa is in such a mess to begin with.

---------- Carvalho

Although I don't agree with some of what Tony, Frederick and Samir wrote, I
certainly agree with them that most NRGs simply don't have a clue about Goa.
