Avrilio Pires memorial South Goa Floodlight Tournament organized by United boys of Ambaulim, Quepem at Ambaulim Volleyball ground. In an exciting first semifinal Xeldem defeated Pujari six Vasco by 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 26-28 and 19-17 margin. After losing the first set Xeldem managed to win the second and third set with a comfortable margin. In the fourth set at one stage it appears that Xeldem will win the third consecutive set as they were needing just 3 point to win the set when the score of Pujari six was 18. However Pujari six cope up the gap and manage to win the fourth set. In the final and deciding set both team were moving neck to neck and it appears that Pujari six will win however Xeldem pulled out the set from jaws of defeat and win the same by 19-17 margin. Pravas Naik, Sarjeo Antao and Vallabh Naik played a major role in the win of Xeldem In another semifinal St. Anthony Colva defeated Maina Six by 15-25, 25-19, 25-23, and 25-21 margin. After loosing the first set Colva manage to make a brilliant come back with brilliant contribution from Reymond Santiago and manage win the second, third and fourth sets. The Final will be played on 6th February at 9.00 PM. For the final Quepem MLA and GIDC Chairman Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar will be the chief guest , QMC Chairperson Mrs. Lydia D’Costa will be guest of honour while ward Smt.
