Unconfirmed reports making the rounds is that people in and around Kola near
Cabo de Ram heard a loud explosion at 1218 noon today. While the Cuncolim
Police were alerted in the matter and they began surveying the region until
late evening there was no trace of any land based explosions.

Some believe that the sound emerged from the sea.

Enquiries by this writer late this evening with the office of the Flag Officer
Commanding Goa Area, the Coast Guard, the Meteorological Department Goa and
the Sea Bird authorities at Naval base Arga Karwar feigned ignorance of the
developments.

However when this writer spoke to Fr Henry De Souza SFX of St Sebastian Church
Canaguinim he confirmed that around 1220 to 1235 his staff experience a loud
deafening sound and even a slight tremor but its origin has not been traced
till the time of filing the report

As enquiries kept pouring with this writer there were reports that some in and
around Navelim too could hear the sound.
