Albert writes:- Many resturants have the habit of giving chocolates instead of
one two rupee coins. One day I was given six chocolates instead ofthree rupees
which I put in my pocket and forgot about it. Next day when I went to the same
restuarant and while digging for a change I saw the chocolates. I took the six
chocolates and the balance I gave him in cash. The owner of course was known to
me . I told him when he looked at me that each of the chocolates are valued at
50 paise. If  I could take it for currency why not you ? I do not eat
chocolates of this type for they are nothing but supposed to be currency. he
took the chocolates with a nice binaca smile and from that time he never gave
me chocolates when he has to give me change. You should also do the
sameRegarding foreigners only are allowed, once we took Our school children for
an excursion .One spot was a spice garden. We paid heavy entrance fee to get
in. We were divided into three groups. The owner took my group. He explained
each and every spice tree that were there,. Then he took us near a lake. I was
surprise that before he reached the lake he told me to ask my class children
not to talk and make noise because the foreigners do not like it. I just kept
quiet. Later my class sat on a lawn to have their lunch. we were told to sit
there. Suddenly the owner comes with a group of tourist. My children were
laughing and chatting loudly and making noise. The owner walks in front and
tells me " Sir tujea bhurgeank matse ogi kor, te foreignerak bobat boro lagona.
Tujea bhurgeank matse khuxin kadd, hea foreignerank vochpak zai." I lost my
head and told him " Mr. x we have not come in free. You have charged us a
ticket. Tell your foreigners to go to Europe if they do not like noise. My
children will even play here. He kept quiet and walked away. This is our goan
attitude.
