Tony de Sa wrote to Mario Goveia: For your information, my relations HAVE BEEN imprisoned in Aguada by the Portuguese and also been hounded out of Goa for their association with Goa's freedom movement. In 1962.
COMMENT: 1: From the above it appears that the Portuguese political prisoners are still incarcerated (by the Portuguese) at the Aguada jail. 2: I know somebody somewhere will try explain what this sentence (possibly a GRG sentence) 'In 1962.' means. 3: Unless of course, Tony was trying to say that some of his relations (relatives) WERE imprisoned in Aguada by the Portuguese while others WERE hounded out of Goa for their association with Goa's freedom movement in 1962. 4: The above statement would give extra credit to the same Portuguese who built the bridge in Daman in the 1980s. Disclaimer: Not every body in the "Goa's freedom movement" was a freedom fighter. Nor was every body who was imprisoned in Aguada by the Portuguese or by the Indian authorities. jusht only me jc
