The Gorment does a shoddy job with the Intruz. Its almost like they are playing m*tka with some spare change: keep a few people happy, get a few tourist in, everyone is happy. Strangely, in their ads, they have pinched pictures of the Venice intruz (shameless since they up there put up a classy performance).
And one other comment after wandering through crowded Margao this afternoon: where is the creativity? We had a fantastic trend-setter in Senor Martins... what a showman ! What do we have now? Pure Goichi hoch-poch! Some unimaginative commercial floats (if you have a firang doll up on the truck, you are ahead in the float world), the kunbi display are so overdone with the exception of the real thing from Quepem. And what about the Gorilla floats...or were they monkeys ? I didn't get that. To compound my misery, a fat auntie shamelessly blocked my view! Just as well. In the days of U-tube, one would think all the Bostiaos and Pedros would do a bit of research, get a little imaginative etc Na re baba. Nothing like that. Lets stick to tradition and dish the same ole Goichi peez. We are lucky, these tourists are on their first trip from gaau....wait till they afford Rio. And the resort/Klub from some place in Bardez that had a yellow Por*he as their float. I really didn't get that. I mean, what was I supposed to think.....speeding to the resort (or was that a klub) out of sheer thirst for a drink ? Or zipping past the potholes or speed bumps. Or was that to make me feel bad for having gotten to Ponji on a vibrating Kadamba? Never mind. As a consolation, my attention was fixed on the doll in white on the float (she had her behind to the P*rche) was having a serious wardrobe malfunction. Saarkem tension zaleem. Kitem sangchem re tumka....slits were on all sides, no maan. Saarkem mo-re, inside-outside zaupache. Saang-che mutlar, the lovely held up....just wondering, who could the dorji be of this ventilated kaabai? I worry about such things!
