wealth to start a business as well as to buy a farmhouse in Kerala. Wilson,
alias Sagi John, 49, was arrested by the Anjuna police on Sunday along with
Thomas Augustinho, 49, both natives of Kerala, in connection with the stabbing
of a German national, David, residing at Anjuna.

“They are certainly the biggest criminals operating in the coastal belt for
long. During interrogation they admitted that from the proceeds of the stolen
goods, they have been able to set up a business. We are verifying this,” said
SP (North) Bosco George. During interrogation, the duo confessed to having
robbed nearly 200 foreigners and admitted they had been operating in Goa for
the last 20 years.

“They would mostly break into foreigners’ houses or rooms and steal laptops,
cameras and money. The goods were sold at a shop in south Goa and they would
earn almost 50% of the actual cost,” said police sources. In the case for which
they were arrested, on December 13, 2009 the duo had allegedly entered the
German’s room intending to commit a theft, but the German caught hold of
Wilson, who then stabbed the foreigner. They then escaped from Goa. They were
arrested from a hotel at Shimoga, Karnataka, by a team led by PI Manjunath
Dessai.
