I was in Goa last Xmas /New Year: mass tourism, Goa trance music, and
everything that should go on as expected by the masses that go there at
that time of the year. Elsewhere there is still something that might be
"Goan" - but am not sure I know what that is supposed to be? Traditional
songs? Maybe - but I did notice how conspicuously absent they were!
Could not find any sign of them? Surely Mando etc could also be marketed
to foreigners (if locals don't like them any more!) - mando does not fit
the Calangute etc background and atmosphere at all, but elsehwere with
the backdrop of palm trees, single houses, nature..my imagination tells
me it could be a unique and unforgettable experience.
