All women crew to fly non-stop flight on Women's Day






 


















To mark the centenary celebrations of the International Women's Day in style, 
Air India has lined up a team of female pilots and cabin crew, engineers and 
flight dispatchers for several international and domestic flights, including 
the non-stop service from Mumbai to New York.

While all the four pilots required to operate the 14-hour long flight of the 
Boeing B777-200 aircraft on Mumbai-JFK sector on March 8 would be women, 
all-women team of cabin crew and ground staff of Air India would support them.

Commanders, Captain Rashmi Miranda and Captain Sunita, and First Officers, 
Captain Swati Rawal and Captain Neha, would operate the flight, while Harpreet 
A De Singh, Head-QMS, would carry out a Line Observation Safety Audit.

Nandita Deshpande and the Load would dispatch the flight and Ferzin Kuruvilla 
would prepare Trim Sheet on March 8, a release said.

Besides this flight, the national carrier's women crew would operate several 
international and domestic flights on that day.

NACIL has more than 136 women pilots on its rolls.

Other international flights to be operated by women cockpit crew include 
Hyderabad-Damam-Chennai, Chennai- Colombo-Chennai sectors.

All women crew would also operate flights on the northern and eastern regions 
on domestic sectors.
