Most people want life in India to be much better than it is right now for 
everybody. But to put things in the right perspective, let me point out that 
India does not figure among the top 50 worst minority rights violators in the 
world. Please see the 2009 Peoples Under Threat report of the Minority Rights 
Group International below:

Among 70 countries with active minority group-related conflicts and disputes, 
Pakistan, Israel, Russia, China, Turkey, Indonesia, and several countries in 
the Middle East, South America and Africa are in the worst top 50. India is at 
the bottom of the pile i.e. 62nd. And Catholics and Christians, as an 
identifiable group, are not considered to be under threat among the minorities.
