Returning officer Sanjiv Dessai on Friday adjourned the hearing of a complaint
filed against tourism minister Francisco "Mickky" Pacheco for allegedly
providing false information about his education qualifications was adjourned to
March 30.
Desai granted more time to Pacheco on Friday to file his reply, following the
prayer made by Pacheco's authorized representative, sources informed.
Calvert Gonsalves had filed the complaint and alleged that Pacheco, in his
affidavit filed during the bye elections held in 2005, had mentioned his
educational qualifications as having passed Std XII. However, in a subsequent
affidavit filed for the assembly elections in 2007, Pacheco stated that he had
passed Std VII, Gonsalves pointed out.
