About Rosary (Teors) and Litany (Ladainha) of our time Gone are the days where we used to pray together as a family in front of our ‘olotori’ (Altar). We now have our own ‘oltori’ in each of our room that’s TV No matter where we were, as soon as we heard the church bell at dawn, we had to return home and we join together to say the Angelus or Aimori. Even if we were at a function or a tiatr near the church, the program would stop immediately on hearing the church bell, the Parish Priest would then come on to the stage to say the Angelus or Aimori with audience (standing). Aimorie usually less than 5 minutes duration. At home, around 8pm or before dinner, our Teors or Rosary starts.. It started with ‘Sotmantam’ (I believe) (Kneel Down) There were 15 ‘misters’ of Teors (usually sitting after first khonn) 5 of ‘Sontosache’ - Monday and Thursday + Sunday during Advent e.g. 1st: Bodvea Gablielan ankvar Moriek Khobor dili Devacho put Tiche kuxin etolo and Deu Esprit Santachem kurpen ti gorbet zatoli 5 of ‘Dukhiche’ – Tueday and Friday + Sunday during Lent e.g. Poilo Mister: Suam Jezu Krist, Jetsemichea molleant orsanv kortana rogot umelo amchea patkam passun 5 of ‘Horkache’ – Wednesday and Saturday + Sunday from Easter onwards e.g. Poilo: Suam Jezu Krist apleach Podven tisrea disak meleleantlo jivont zalo. However, when saying ‘Ruzai’ (15 khonnacho teors) all 15 mister can be said. (Ruzai usually on 'Alma Dis' (All Souls Day) and when 'Our Lady (Milagros Saibinn) visits our home' 3 to 4 times a year. A typical Rosary of 5 ‘Khonn’ has 5 Amche Bapa (and 5 Ani Amcho Dispotto..) 50 Noman Morie (and 50 Santan Morie, 150 in case of Ruzai) 5 Onod Bapak (and 5 Zoso Adim..) At the end of each khonn i.e. 1 AB 10 NM & 1 OB, we all said.. O MHUJEA JEZUS BHOGOS/ NIVAR AMKAM EMKOMDDANTLEA UJEANTLIM, SOGLEA OTMEANT SORGAR VHOR ODHIK KORUN CHODD GOROZ ASLOLEANK At this time we often sang a short hymn usually a chorus such as AVE, AVE AVE MARIA (2) Or LAUDATE, LAUDATE, LAUDATE DOMINUM (2) Or SORGAR, SORGAR MHOJE MAIM THAIN VETOLOM (2) etc at the end of the 5 khonn or the Rosary.. (Kneel Down) We said (unsung) Litany or Ladin in Latin Kyrie Eleison etc Ora Pro Nobis etc Followed by ‘Soronaetan tuka Rannie..’ One: Bhou Povite Ruzaiche Rannie, amche pasun mag All: Kristacheo bhasaunnio amkam favo zauncheak Then come Teors Jezu Kallzacho (Sitting) 5 khonn One: Eh voronntache kallza Jezuchea (I know I am wrong at the second word) All: Kor mhojem Kalliz tujea sarkem One: Duloba Kallza Jesuchea x 10 (Total 10x5) All: Zaum tum Amcho Mog One: Duloba kallza ankvar Moriechea All: Vinonti kor amche passun Followed by our regular prayers for the family, dead, Saints etc Usually consist of AB/NM and OB In the end, we usually sung a hymn in full. or during the lent or korezm we sang Senhor Deus, Misericordia (3) Whole teors would take about an hour. (During the hour, we sometimes dozed (Jemeta ou Ghantt Marta) and often yawned including the elders) [email protected] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc The INTERNET now has a personality.
