John William (Willie) Da Costa
1932-2010
John William Da Costa passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital at
6:45 am on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Yvonne Da Costa (nee Mendes)
and his five children Beverley, Deirdre, Gareth, Gavin and his wife Kym, and
Neil. Dad was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He was a mentor
and father figure to many and was passionate about helping others. Of all his
admirable qualities, his mischievous spirit and sense of humour will be greatly
missed.
The family wishes to thank everyone who touched his life and is grateful for
the outpouring of sympathy and support they have received.
Friends and family may call at the Highland Funeral Home 3280 Sheppard Ave.
East in Scarborough , Ontario on Thursday the 8th April 2010 from 2:00 pm to
4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the
Annunciation Church , 3 Combermere Drive , Toronto , Ontario at 10:00 am on
Friday the 9th April 2010.
The DaCosta family would like to extend an invitation after the church service
for refreshments at Epiphany of Our Lord Church Hall, 3200 Pharmacy Avenue ,
Scarborough . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to North York
General Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A special thanks to Dr.
Born and the kind and amazing staff at North York General Hospital .
