Thank you Dr. Barad for this article.
I have gone through Arundhati Roy's Essay thoroughly and completely.

I too do not agree with the Maoist phyche.
But with all the power and money that the Indian state has at its disposal, why leave your own destitute tribal peoples to the mercies of the Maoists? Take them under your wings, give them the best you can afford to give, change their perception of never getting anywhere, even with their posterity. Show them the change that they will like and adopt - not force it down their throat. And at the same time expose the Maoists for what they are. Weaning the people off the Maoist support-line is the trick, the intelligent state like India can use win this war.

But alas!, the intelligent state that is India wants to be in the pockets of Corporates such as Vedanta and Ors.

The people manning the labyrinths of New Delhi have to grow up, indeed, to make the Maoists vanish in thin air.

A naïve admiration for the Maoists is emblematic of the tendency in some
among the Indian intellectual class toward left-wing utopianism.

Maoist insurgents ambushed Indian security forces in the dense forest
region of Chhattisgarh state in central India on Tuesday, killing over 70
troops of the Central Reserve Police Force. Analysts are calling it the
worst single-day loss in fighting domestic insurgencies.
