The United States of America does not allow ANY food products, meat, fish,
or otherwise.  During my annual returns to the USA one time all the packets of
Cashewnuts I had brought as gifts were confirscated and presumably
destroyed.  Someone had a half-eaten ham sandwich from Europe, and it too was
confiscated and destroyed. Even spices are suspect.
There are U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors at the airport with special
X-ray equipment scanning ALL luggage, and they can detect all food
items.
I have a good excuse for not bringing any gifts to the USA anymore.
