As said, we too are the victims of Volcanic Ash, luckily we have OCI.
 
As for Visa extension, Govt, on 20th April had okayed it i,e, 14 day visa 
extension 
free of Charge.  
Don't know how far this was effective.
 
Pax, particularly in India, should take along with them the news paper cuttings 
or 
print out to produce before the concerned officers, if needed.

Ref letter from JoeGoaUK.
 Certain British friends have been terribly distressed over the visa 
authorities for not extending their visas when there is a genuine problem due 
to the volcanic eruption.  Just what are they supposed to do in a crisis like 
this?.
