Hospicio Margao http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauksix/331589767/ “No. it’s not my job..that’s your job” While Margao Hospicio staff argue, the patient dies Only God knows how many such incidents at Goa Hospitals go unreported. Nursing is supposed to be a noble profession, staff or nurses should not be fighting over such petty issues thus putting the lives of the patients at risk. What more one can say about our nurses or the hospital staff? Thank God, in Goan hospitals, there is at least one relative by the patient’s bed side day and night who usually does upto 90% of the nursing job (including feeding, changing, timely medicines etc etc) If there is no one, the nurses there ask ‘ Who is going to stay with the patient?’ If you have none, then you may be able to find one through their contacts at the rate of Rs.400-500 per day or night. Imagine, 20 personal attnedants of the patients in a 20 bedded hospital ward plus the nurses and other staff When we do most part of their job, our ward nurses fight or complain about their job.. I wonder, if they really care about their profession! The Hospicio incidence that came up on all Goan dailies today http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoaukextras/4556897425/sizes/l/
